The Doctoral Program in Radiological Physics is quite unique, being the only one within the Czech Republic preparing graduates for positions in radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, and radiobiology. The course program and topics of doctoral theses are closely related to the Master Programme in Radiological Physics, giving a more in-depth insight into special areas of radiological physics. The coursework part of the program comprises new methods in radiodiagnostics, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, microdosimetry, radiobiology and the use of the Monte Carlo method in radiological physics. The research part, including the doctoral examination, is completed with the submission of the dissertation. -

Graduates develop their careers as team leaders in quality control analytical laboratories, R&D departments of private companies, research institutes, universities, hospitals, environmental control centers, and in other governmental institutions. They are highly qualified specialists in analytical chemistry, with deep theoretical backgrounds in analytical, physical, inorganic and organic chemistry. Graduates have a solid foundation of knowledge in analytical instrumental techniques, including separation (chromatographic and electromigration), spectroscopic (atomic and molecular spectroscopy, mass and NMR spectrometry) and in electrochemical analytical methods. They are able to use advanced mathematical statistics and computational approaches for data evaluation and understand and implement the best laboratory and management practices. Graduates are able to develop and confirm new analytical methods based on practical needs, plan and organize research work, and solve complex analytical problems. This study program emphasizes devolving communication; graduates are trained to be able to communicate the results of their teams, both orally and in high-level reports or standard publications in a scientific journal. -

The post-graduate study subject "Physical Geography" links up with the magister study subject of the same name. In its specializations, the post-graduate study subject covers the whole spectrum of physical geography: a) It develops individual basic scientific disciplines studying partial subsystems of the landscape sphere: Geomorphology and Palaeogeography of the Quaternary, Climatology, and Meteorology, Hydrology, Biogeography, Pedogeography, and Geoecology. b) It is concerned with the synthesis of the geographical environment, ensured by complex physical geography. Besides the relations between natural components of the geographical environment, it also covers interactions of physical-geographical and social-economic spheres. -

Ph.D. graduates are highly qualified specialists in organic chemistry, with deep theoretical backgrounds in inorganic, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry. Graduates have a strong foundation of knowledge in synthetic methodologies, kinetics methods and analytical techniques (separations, mass and NMR spectroscopy) using advanced computational approaches for data evaluation and treatment, and learn best practices for laboratory work and management. Graduates are able to develop syntheses and characterizations of new organic and organometallic compounds, plan, organize, and lead research work, and make decisions when solving complex synthetic and analytical problems.
